Command Sergeant Major Jim M. Brown assumed duties as the Division Command Sergeant Major, 38th Infantry Division, in June, 2002. As the Division CSM, he is responsible for overseeing the welfare of all soldiers, ensuring that the non-commissioned corps is second to none and ready to accomplish all tasks assigned, and is the chief advisor to the Division Commander. The Sergeant Major's career began in 1970 when he enlisted as a light weapons infantry man. Prior to his current assignment, CSM Brown served as the 76th Infantry Brigade (SIB) CSM.
