All work and no play...                                                                                                                  Story by: Spc. William E. INDIANAPOLIS - Family Readiness Groups for the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team’s Field Artillery Batteries banded together in Indianapolis collecting donated supplies to send to the Soldiers deployed to the Middle East, March 15.

As a large box of personal supplies like shaving cream, deodorants and sun block gradually filled for the troops, the afternoon was packed with many Easter activities for the kids to enjoy.

“I wanted to make it more fun for the kids and a good time for the families all together,” said Julie Clahan, Rockville FRG chairperson.

The Easter Bunny was on hand to greet the children, an egg hunt got underway and the little ones searched for eggs in kiddy pools filled with decorative grass.

Amber Halsey, wife of Staff Sgt. Andrew Halsey, a squad leader with 3rd Battalion, 139th Field Artillery Regiment, said she enjoys the support and interaction with the children and families of other deployed Soldiers.

“It gives the kids something to look forward to and it gets them around kids that are in the same situation that they’re in too,” said Halsey.

Another wife that enjoys the extended support is Heather Rouse, wife of Spc. Charles Rouse of the 2nd Battalion 150th Field Artillery Regiment.

“It’s good to know you have help if you need to talk to someone. If I have any problems I feel a lot better knowing there is someone I can count on,” said Rouse.
