Departure Ceremony for Indiana
National Guard Unit |
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
A platoon
from the 1313 Engineer Company, is scheduled to conduct a
departure ceremony prior to their deployment to Iraq
beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at the 219th
Area Support Group National Guard Armory, Camp Atterbury,
Edinburgh, Ind., 46124.

Keynote
speaker will be the Adjutant General of Indiana, Maj. Gen. R.
Martin Umbarger. |
|
Forty five
soldiers from 1313 Engineer Company will be mobilizing at Fort
McCoy, Wisconsin, where they will undergo training in
preparation for deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom. While deployed, the unit will provide engineer support
within the Theater of Operation. |

Soldiers from
Indiana National Guard are among the most professional and
well-trained individuals in the United States, prepared for any
missions around the globe. As we continue to defend this nation
in support of the Global War on Terror, let us not forget about
that hard work and sacrifices each Indiana National Guardsman
makes to ensure to safety of each and every American. |
