DEPARTURE CEREMONY FOR INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD UNIT

 

INDIANAPOLIS –  Company F, 151st Anti-Armor Battalion is scheduled to conduct a departure ceremony prior to their deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m., June 2, at the South Bend Armory, 1901 S. Kemble Ave, South Bend, Ind., 46613. 

 

This is Company F, 151st Anti-Armor Battalion’s first deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Approximately 175 Soldiers from the unit, which is headquartered in South Bend, will travel to their mobilization station prior to arrival in theater.

 

Among the guest speakers are Col. Michael J. Osburn, Commander, 81st Troop Command, and representatives from state and local government. Family, friends, service-members, retired personnel and media are invited to attend the ceremony. 

 

The Soldiers of the Company F will provide security force support within the Theater of Operation. These men are highly trained, committed individuals who will represent Indiana exceptionally well.

 

The Indiana National Guard continues to provide trained, experienced and professional soldiers for deployment in support of a multitude of missions both at home and abroad. As citizen/soldiers, those within the Indiana National Guard will continue to defend and support the American people, their freedom and the Constitution of the United States.
