Second Wave of Soldiers Return from Operation Iraqi Freedom

Battery E (Target Acquisition), 139th Field Artillery

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Indiana Soldiers are scheduled to arrive home     Friday morning after completing missions overseas.
Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger, the Adjutant General for Indiana, received notification that 17 Indiana National Guard Soldiers of the 38th Infantry Division's Division Artillery's will arrive at the Indianapolis International Airport at approximately 10 a.m., on January 27th.
These Soldiers belong to Battery E (Target Acquisition), 139th Field      Artillery headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Soldiers have recently demobilized through Fort Sill, Oklahoma and will be on leave until their    official release from active duty sometime in February/March 2006.  This is the final element of the unit to return home, which stayed behind to hand      off their equipment to another unit.  The majority of the unit returned back      in December 2005.
During their deployment, the mission for this unit was to detect, locate and identify enemy elements and forces though military radar detection      systems within their area of operations.
The media are invited to cover the return in Concourses B-C at the Indianapolis International Airport, where family and friends are expected to greet the returning soldiers.
We are indebted to these citizen soldiers and their families for the      sacrifices they made for our state and nation and are very happy for their    safe return.
